There were no dents, broken parts, or malfunctioning equipment. Performed inspection before leaving the lot and found no damage. As always I declined the rental agency insurance. They were not going to rent car unless I provided insurance. Upon arrival, an employee at the rental desk asked for my car insurance policy which I have never had to show before and found unusual. Recently rented a car from Budget in Salt Lake City. Demand and time of day influence the pricing. However, that was a post on TA a few days ago where a member said they paid $160 one way to Park City and when coming back to SLC it was $80. IMO, it is best to have a car in SLC unless you are staying downtown and no venturing too far from there. Whether it would be convenient for you would depend on where you are staying and where you want to visit/go. However, it is geared mostly to commuters. Use Uber, Lyft or hire private transportation. IMO, using the Park City Connect bus to get from the airport to Park City is pretty inconvenient and it would be time consuming. Again, you have the same issues as outlined above. If you are visiting between April and the end of November, the bus still operates. Depending on where your lodging is in Park City, you may have to walk from a bus stop for a distance. Using the ski bus involves disembarking a the transit center at Kimball Junction and boarding another bus, all while dealing with your luggage.

If you are visiting during ski season and can get yourself to one of the pick up points with your luggage (the bus does not originate from the airport), then you don't need a car to get around Park City.
